Item in question: CONFOUNDING AURES
It's been in the game since alpha PvP if I recall, seeing as Kojomeh was a victim of this. It's pretty ridiculous. This Archer's bow NEEDS TO BE FIXED.
17 second stun that re-applies each time and lands just near 100% of the time. I don't want to hear that it has a low % to proc, I've been in enough games to experience it.
I have several videos of my PvP matches where an Archer just pops 1 arrow into every team mate while his critters and team mates just destroy the base - then re-applies the stun every few seconds. If this is not fixed in the upcoming patch, I really won't know what to say. No one can argue this is balanced, AT ALL.
It has been in game way to long and not handled well enough. It is a game-breaking mechanic as it stands right now.
Can we fix this already?

I admit it's very OP'ed but I've seen devo's tear through it before and even an illu survived for a while using some -debuff time gear. Overall, I still agree it needs some looking into. I don't think the 5% is actually a 5% chance. And I haven't tested this recently but does the time from wearing the stunning knife still stack with the bow?

That still isn't balanced if the majority of classes ( that can) have to opt for max -debuff gear to stand a slight chance. Even if the stun only lasted 3 seconds, it'd still be over-powered due to the rate it activates. Not sure on the dagger; I'll test it tomorrow if no one else posts about it here before then.

Well I think it's important that the debuffs still have enough kick to merit the existence of -debuff gear. Right now, everyone is a speed junky. It's all about running and swinging quickly. I think most people aren't playing with defensive gear. I agree with fixing the stun but I still want the game to encourage a variety of builds. People shouldn't be able to get away with just making a "stun gun" build; but at the same time, a "full assault" build shouldn't protect anyone from stun.

I'd like Shaden to confirm but I just tested my Confounding Aures (stun bow) and Confounding Eman (stun knife) DOES stack with the bow. This means that if the bow stuns for 5 seconds and the knife stuns for 11 seconds, either weapon will stun an enemy a total of 16 seconds.
I actually think this could be fair for the simple fact that you need BOTH gears and have them both upgraded before this becomes powerful. The knife might need a slight stun time reduction though. After all, max bow will stun for 5 seconds (against non-flying) and the knife will stun for 15 seconds for a 20 second total. 20 seconds of stun is a LONG time.
I WOULD suggest reducing the knife stun duration to 10 seconds max, meaning that it starts with 5 seconds and get 1 second each upgrade. This means that the max stun would be 15 seconds. The problem is that I went back and checked what DA gear could counter stun. With maxed Knee Shields, you get -12 seconds debuff time. So, currently you would only be stunned 8 seconds if you just equipped the right gear. If we use my recommendation, that would drop to just 3 seconds stun time.
What is the max -debuff gear for other classes?

The Confounding Aures stun mostly (or only?) set with flying foes, the description need to be updated.

I forgot that weapons were ignoring the enemy types (another bug). But assuming that enemy types get considered, the duration I stated above would be true. And as far as I know, Confounding Aures' stun is only upgradable against flying enemies. For all others, it's a 5% chance to stun for 5 seconds.

Bumping this up again, this still needs to be looked at as far as I know. Never got to test with the dagger because I stopped playing after 4.003 changes for a while - I'll try later if I can find someone to PvP with.

Everything still stacks. Still operates at a near 100% on-hit chance. Still lasts 25+ seconds and re-applies each hit basically. Is this going to be addressed in 4.005 TGI? You guys said 4.004 would fix this, but it's not only OP in PvP, it is used on Megafauna flawlessly. It's been a month+ since 4.004 was implemented. This wasn't even commented on in the patch notes if I remember correctly. TG_Aerisyn wrote: Addressed in v4.004. Promise.
